I awake from a long deep sleep, My bones are stiff, my eyes are dry. The tears shed for me have fallen from the trees, Frozen in the snow where the dead leaves lie.
O’er the mountain creeps a mysterious song, A chorus bathed in mystic light. Guilt and sin, cast upon now belong With the fading stars and the long dead night.
The earth gives off her fragrance, The sweetest fruit of decay. I now lie here by choice, not chance, As the tears and snow melt away.
Hush now…we’re all alone… In the deepest silence of birth’s first hum, Rise to your feet, roll away the stone, Death, once more is overcome.
